A Scenic Drive, Fresh Headshots, and Brisket: My Day in White House, TN
White House, TN
I recently had the pleasure of traveling up to White House, Tennessee, to provide professional headshots for the fantastic team at White House Realtors, LLC.
Even with a bit of cloud cover, it was a beautiful spring-like day—the kind of weather that makes loading and unloading photography gear a breeze. Since I live south of Nashville in Columbia, I decided to dodge the morning interstate rush by taking Highway 7 through Dickson. It’s one of those drives that reminds you why Middle Tennessee is so special; the rolling hills and quiet backroads are stunning any time of the day.
More Than Just a Photo Op

The setup at White House Realtors was perfect. They had a great space just inside the main doors that worked beautifully as a pop-up studio. Everyone arrived early, so we were able to get through the entire team's headshots before their meeting even started.
Beyond the photography, I had the chance to share some insights on using AI to scale content creation, and we walked through our guide on preparing a home for a real estate shoot. It’s always rewarding to help professionals find new ways to elevate their brand and streamline their workflow.

Discovering White House, TN: A Hidden Gem
If you haven’t spent much time in White House, you’re missing out. Spanning both Robertson and Sumner counties, it’s a community that perfectly balances small-town charm with modern convenience.
Why people are moving here:
The Best of Both Worlds: You get a peaceful, quiet lifestyle while being just a short 25-mile drive from the energy of Nashville.
Outdoor Lifestyle: The city is home to the White House Greenway, a beautiful 3.5-mile paved trail that follows Honey Run Creek. It’s perfect for a morning run or a sunset stroll.
Community Vibe: With top-rated schools, a bustling municipal park, and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, it’s a prime spot for families and professionals alike.
I almost took a detour to explore one of the city's wonderful walking trails myself, but with a busy afternoon ahead, I decided to get a head start on my return trip to Columbia.
The Best Way to End the Day
You can't leave White House without stopping at Perry’s Smokin’ Pig. Located right on the city line, it’s the ultimate pit stop. I grabbed two brisket sandwiches to-go, and they were the perfect fuel for the drive back.

I stuck to my scenic route for the return trip, heading back through Dickson and down Highway 7. By 2:00 PM, the sun had broken through, and it was a perfect 70 degrees. I couldn't resist stopping at Chickasaw Trace Wilderness Park for a quick walk and workout before heading into the office to start editing.
