Things Home Sellers Should Expect From Their Nashville Real Estate Agent

“He is not a full man who does not own a piece of land.”

- Hebrew Proverb

For most Americans, the value of their home represents their most significant financial asset. When an owner decides to sell their home, the real estate agent hires, makes the process easier, is more efficient, makes money, and has fewer problems. All these things are given while looking for the highest possible price, in the shortest time possible and, with a minimum of problems, don't they?

This article will examine five things that home sellers should expect and should demand from the professional real estate agent they hire to represent their best interests.

5 Things that Home Sellers Should Expect

1. Integrity

It can empower people to learn specific skills. If they study and take it seriously, they should be able to acquire the degree of knowledge and transform it into useful wisdom. However, unlike these things, integrity is not taught, but behavior that must be absolute or means little. You must wait and demand, the agent you hire, tell you, not only what you want to hear, but also what you need to know and do it with the greatest sincerity and integrity. You must not lie, nor make material mistakes!

2. Loyalty

Legally, morally, and ethically, a seller with a real estate license must provide the highest degree of commitment to his client. You must tell the truth and explain honestly. Still, you must maintain your fiduciary responsibility to protect the owner's situation and avoid informing others about non-material matters, which are not in the best interest of your client.

3. Negotiations

How do you know how well someone will negotiate in your name? Start by listening effectively and carefully.

  • When interviewing potential representatives, do you listen or talk more?

  • Are they discussing the benefits, or merely the characteristics?

  • Do they clearly explain what, and how, are the best agent for you?

  • When the dreaded matters like commissions and discussions, can they defend and justify what they ask convincingly and do they show how they provide value?

After all, if an agent cannot defend what he considers his value, how will he negotiate effectively, in your name?

4. Marketing

Discuss the marketing plan and how you will work together, as a team, towards the common goal! What will the agent do, and why? How will the real estate agent market in ways others might not do?

5. Faithful to You

In the end, hire someone who convinces you, by words and deeds. He must be loyal to you and must put your best interests first!

Homeowners, you owe it to yourself to carefully interview and hire the best agent for you.

The five things listed above are the minimum you must demand and deserve to receive from the agent you hire!
